Proteins Purification Services for Actin

Microfilaments are formed by the helical polymerization of actin molecules, also known as actin filaments, which together with microtubules and intermediate fibers form the cytoskeleton and are a highly conserved protein. Microfilaments are important for many cellular functions such as cell attachment, spreading, motility, endocytosis, and cell division. CD BioSciences saves you more research time and new discoveries with one-stop protein purification services through a wealth of protein expression systems and technical resources. Design and optimize your protocols with powerful assay kits and imaging systems to obtain high-quality experimental data.

Overview of Actin

Microfilaments are double-stranded actin filaments in the form of a helix. Microfilaments, together with its binding protein and myosin, form a chemo mechanical system that uses chemical energy to generate mechanical motion. Vertebrate actin is divided into three types: α, β and γ. Polymeric and non-polymeric actin can interact with a variety of binding proteins that regulate actin polymerization and the stability, length and distribution of microfilaments.
