Intermediate Filaments Dynamic Imaging Services

The cytoskeleton controls the morphological and dynamic characteristics of eukaryotic cells and plays an important role in maintaining cellular integrity. CD BioSciences use intermediate filament dynamic imaging, labeling and detection research tools and technical resources to save you more time for research and new discoveries. Design and optimize your protocols for high-quality experimental data using powerful assay kits and imaging systems.

Classification of Intermediate Filament (IF) Proteins

IF consists of one or more members of a large family of highly insoluble proteins encoded by multiple genes. These IF proteins are not spherical and have a similar central α-helix rod-structure domain flanked by variable non-helix N and C-termini. IFs are classified into six categories based on sequence homology in the rod domain.

Subtypes Protein Main tissue distribution
Type I Keratin Epithelia, hair, and nails
Type II Keratin
Type III Vimentin Mesenchyme
Desmin Cardiac, skeletal, and smooth muscles
Syncoilin Muscles
GFAP Glia, astrocytes
Peripherin Peripheral neurons
Type IV Neurofilaments: NF-L, NF-M, NF-H CNS and neurons
α-Internexin CNS and neurons
Synemin Neurons, astrocytes, and muscles
Nestin Neural stem cells
Type V Lamins A, B, and C Ubiquitous (nucleus)
Orphan Filensin Lens
Phakinin Lens

Our Services

CD BioSciences provides the most comprehensive services for intermediate filament dynamic imaging projects. Through strict monitoring and effective execution, we are committed to providing the best value solutions to complete your project.

To successfully perform live cell imaging experiments, it is critical to use the right platform. We offer a variety of live cell imaging systems to help our customers perform intermediate filament dynamics related studies easier and faster while protecting the sample.

  • Keratin Dynamics Imaging Service
  • Vimentin Dynamics Imaging Service

Obtaining real-time information on intermediate filaments dynamics must ensure that the cells operate naturally during the experiment as much as possible in terms of physiological mechanisms, and therefore will make the experiment more difficult. Our high-performance imaging solutions can overcome these challenges of live cell imaging and help discover new information about cell physiology and dynamics.
