Senior Scientist, VLPlantTM
Role Summary
CD BioSciences is dedicated to the production, purification, modification and detection of virus-like particles (VLPs) on a plant-based platform. We are looking for outstanding, innovative and creative senior scientists to join our R&D team. This senior scientist will play a variety of roles in the R&D group, primarily being responsible for the experimental components involved in plant expression systems and VLP modification.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to use plant transient expression systems and other emerging technologies to produce VLP and familiarity with VLP purification and formulation.
- Work closely with other scientists to develop VLP-related vaccines, nanomaterials and diagnostic kits.
- Ensure timely delivery of experimental results.
- Interprets and analyzes experimental data to design further experiments.
- Responsible for applying scientific expertise and judgment to initiate, design, and execute experiments in a time-sensitive manner.
- Assist in laboratory management by actively participating, advising and presenting findings to team members.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in plant microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or another related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a biochemical CRO/CMO company is required.
- Experimental experience with plant transient expression systems and VLP modifications and the ability to develop VLP-related vaccines, nanomaterials and diagnostic kits autonomously.
- Ability to work independently and in multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to design and manage projects and to lead R&D teams independently.
- Experience in preparing high quality documentation, including technical reports, presentations, SOPs, experimental protocols, and regulatory documents
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
