Common Name
ROSA-Neo-EGFP-Cetn1
Mutation Type
Targeted Mutation
Product Overview
This ROSA-Neo-EGFP-CETN1 strain serves as a cre recombinase mediated, tissue specific centrosome indicator reporter strain: when crossed with a Cre recombinase strain, the floxed-STOP cassette is deleted and the GT(ROSA)26Sor promoter drives expression of EGFP/CETN1 in the cre-expressing cells.

Genetics

Allele Symbol
Gt(ROSA)26Sortm1(EGFP/CETN1)Sev
Gene Symbol
Gt(ROSA)26Sor
Gene Name
gene trap ROSA 26
Strain of Origin
129
Chromosome
6
Molecular Note
A targeting vector containing a loxP-flanked PGK-NEO cassette and a triplicate SV40 polyA sequence, followed by an EGFP-Centrin 1 fusion cassette (cDNA of the human centrin 1 gene, CETN1, fused in frame, with EGFP at the N-terminus) with Bovine Growth Hormone polyA sequence, was inserted into the GT(ROSA)26Sor locus.
Site of Expression
When these mutant mice are bred to mice that express Cre recombinase, the resulting offspring will express EGFP/CETN1 in the cre-expressing tissues.
Expressed Gene(s)
GFP, Green Fluorescent Protein; CETN1, centrin 1, human

Husbandry

Suggested Controls
Wild-type from the colony
Breeding Considerations
When maintaining a live colony, these mice can be bred as homozygotes, however, the Donating Investigator reports that homozygotes become less fertile after 4 or 5 generations.
Breeding Strategy
Heterozygote x Heterozygote
Coat Color
Black
